[12.19.2012] Yo!

My finals are over! So far according to my Math 203 professor all the day sections for Math 203 bombed the departmental final. So I really want to see my grade because that means I did worse than I thought I did (and I thought I did well during that final). Also, I felt the Chem 103 final that I had yesterday was easy so I am not worried, but I want to see what I got on the third partial exam that I didn't get back yet.

Putting final exams aside, I am finally able to work full throttle on my final portfolio! I am excited to finally invest more time on the portfolio because I think my layout looks good so far, but it needs writing! Because I am focusing on being creative with your voice I want to use the revision process in a way that will exemplify that method of my own improvement. I got really creative with my writing and revising in a creative way would be a crime especially since now is the time that I could revise my work after I told myself that I want to revise many of my pieces. Now that I have this opportunity I could experiment with Wendy Bishop's many many revision techniques!

Good luck on all your finals and I hope you enjoy working on your portfolios!~

Also, if you want to try using the comments module for the portfolio. We could comment on each other's portfolios and take that with us when we move up to English 21007 and if you have Lucchesi next semester then I'll see you soon~~

[12.16.2012] Hi there!

I figured out how to put a comment box and a "back to top" link on the wiki pages that I made after playing around with the wiki a bit. Now I could use the codes to make the wiki page experience a little better. If you feel like looking over my midterm piece and researched wiki project again be my guest! Now you can add comments to them if you feel you have some constructive criticism to give.

How to put a comments section on your page:
• [[module Comments]] Puts a comments section on your page

Some attributes you might like to play around with:
• title="add title" Gives the comments section a title
• order="reverse" Orders comments go from newest to oldest.
• hideForm="true" Instead of a comment box you get a "add a new comment" link.
• hide="true" Instead of a block of comments you get a "show comments" link

You would place them like this for example:
[[module Comments title="Comments" order="reverse" hideForm="true"]]

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How to make a "back to top" link:
• [[# anchor-name]] Place this code on the top of your page
• [#anchor-name Back to Top] Place this where you want the link to appear

These codes are not perfect. I do notice that the number of comments update randomly. If you flip pages on the created pages table then it will update with the comments posted on the used to be void of comments pages. If you refresh the page then it goes back to its non-updated self (I don't know why it does that). Also, the back to top page only takes you up to the anchor. Anything above the anchor (including the title of the page, the menu bar on the wiki and the website's heading) will not be shown upon clicking the back to top link. I don't think that is a big problem though. If you do find a truly back to top code where it takes you to the top of the page rather than the top of your written stuff then please share it.

I hope this helps you in gaining new feedback as well as navigating through your work :)

[11.27.2012] Hey guys!

When it is done my researched wiki project will be posted over here. I think it might take the form of a video with an accompanying transcript. I'm most likely going to write the transcript first and play around with the visual aspect as I am writing. Click the link if you want to check my progress.

[10.25.2012] How goes it?

For my midterm piece I plan to edit my blog post 4. When it is complete you can check it out here.

I thought the peer review session this time around was much more helpful! I really liked the feedback I received from both Stefanie and Mehnaj. I also noticed many errors on my part as I was reading my piece aloud. I guess reading your piece aloud really helps when trying to proofread or edit at a sentence level. I should really do it more often.

So far things have been going well. My pre-registration advisement sessions went very well. I was able to clarify certain things that were unclear as well as make sure I am able to go with my proposed schedule. Good news: I am able to take ENGL 21007 with Andrew next semester! I hope to see most of you guys with me as well. :)

I also have to go to Comic Strip Live Comedy Club between 81st St. and 82nd St. for the Arts in NYC seminar course. My sister is coming with me and hopefully we can have a great time. If you are in Prof. Judell's seminar 1 course then of course I will see you there as well. Speaking of comedy I am really into humor and funny videos. Normally you would see me watching YouTube videos in my spare time (which is usually a great way to procrastinate without even trying). In an attempt to make you laugh a bit here are some of the videos I have recently watched. It has nothing to do with English 110, but since I am most likely to be working on a piece about comedy I would like to share some of that comedy with you. Besides, these videos might serve as a momentary breathing period if you are completely stuck. Sometimes a moment of laughter will relax you and then you will write without being anxious or stressed out about writing. Just make sure you go right back to work after you are done watching. :P

If you are familiar with the Nostalgia Critic then you might have seen these already. If not then I hope you enjoy it [*Note: Most of the jokes are really funny, but if you feel strongly about vulgar and inappropriate language then I would advise you not to watch this]:

[10.22.2012] Hey guys!

So far I feel the urge to write more pieces or revise some of my works in my own time. To think that we would write so much in this course but enjoy it all the same! Writing seems like less of a chore and more of an expression. I am not pressured to write a certain way or rush to finish a piece because of this course. It's a great change from the regular writing process we are used to using wouldn't you say?

So far I have so many things to deal with when it comes to this first semester. This week is the pre-registration advisement period and most of us have midterms to deal with. On the bright side, we have Halloween! This is a time where we can be whimsical and entertaining. Of course we still have to come to school but at least we can walk around dressed up and no one will say anything. You'll stand out if most of the people around you aren't in costume but that's not a problem. Even though we will be busy on Halloween and you might have homework to do and tests to study for, at least you will be able to exhibit some whimsy on that day :)

I will update as much as I can, time permitting. I'll see you guys around soon! (actually we meet twice a week and then some, so I'll see you around campus!)

[10.07.2012] Welcome to my page!

I hope you will look at this page and my previous works. Maybe you'll find some useful techniques in my pieces. Maybe you're here to give me some advise. Maybe you need some advise. Maybe you just want to look at more pieces. Whatever the reason for your visit please feel free to look around!

Right now I have nothing interesting to post up right now. I will definitely update this page later to make it more interesting in the really near future. I'll add maybe a small biography, a few pictures, some links. Right now just enjoy the stuff that is on here so far. I'll keep in touch.
